Wing-a-me-jig

The sun has been shining for most of the day but it did start to pour down very heavily for quite a while around lunchtime. This means I managed to get into quite a lot of sewing today and not hanging about in the garden soaking up the rays! Danny has been away visiting his mum too so I had no excuses or interruptions at all and it has turned out to be quite a productive day, (it kind of had to be with less than a week now until the craft fair).

I decided to spend the morning sewing the various body parts of my long-legged birdies together as they have been sitting in a pile next to the sewing machine for near enough one week now. They have just been stuffed and are waiting for their finishing touches - buttons, wings etc, that might wait until tomorrow now though.

Talking of wings.......

I spent a while getting used to some of the embroidery stitches on my sewing machine this afternoon. The machine is still a fairly basic model and since buying it I have been using the straight stitch almost constantly. This has always seemed like a little bit of a waste and I have wanted to try and make use of the other stitches at some point so I set too it and this little fellow complete with fairy wings / or maybe even angel wings was the result, I think he is such a cutie, the green fabric is SO soft and huggable and I love him.

My only problem is to decide what exactly this wee cutie is. He seems to be mostly a bear but bears don't generally have wings, any ideas give me a shout - for now he can be a thing-a-me-jig or Wing-a-me-jig. x
