Screen Printing

ink

I have been thinking about getting into the local print studio for a while and trying to learn how to screen print (my degree was in Illustration and Printmaking but we concentrated on lino, etching and lithography). I did a very short beginners class when I was in sixth year at high school but that was a VERY long time ago and well lets face it, I have forgotten everything I was taught. I have really been enjoying drawing recently and my pen and ink drawings I think would lend themselves quite well to becoming screen prints. There are some beginners classes on at the DCA print studio on a Thursday evening from 6pm but the day job will not allow me to attend these (late night shopping Thursdays), yet another reason for me to try and get a new job! I might have to look into the possibility of getting a private lesson or talking someone into showing me the ins and outs of the whole process, I'm sure it will all come back to me.

PS I nicked the photograph from Jen Collins' blog, have a look here to see her beautiful prints (Jen, I hope you don't mind).
